Korean Studies Minor

Students with a minor in Korean Studies at Purdue University will acquire intermediate-level proficiency in the four areas of listening, speaking, reading, and writing. They will be also able to appreciate classical and modern Korean literature and cultural traditions. Moreover, they will be able to grasp a better understanding of Korea-related issues with their cultural knowledge learned through the curriculum. Not only will they reach the desired target level of proficiency, they will be also able to develop their intercultural communication skills. In order to fulfill the requirements for this Korean Study minor, the student must establish language proficiency in Korean equivalent to Korean Level VI. Students need to choose from the following categories to fulfill 15 credits required. Courses taken within the Minor must have an average grade of B or 3.0/4. No course with a grade lower than a C can be counted towards the Minor.
