Upper Division Economics Admission Requirements
The following are the Economics Admission Index (EAI) courses: ENGL 10600/10800, COM 11400, ECON 25100, ECON 25200, MA 16010/16100/16500, and CS 23500. To be admitted to Upper Division Economics, students must complete all of the EAI courses with an EAI GPA of 2.75 or higher, have a C- or higher in all EAI courses, and not be on probation. Students also must have a C- or higher in any ECON course taken previously or concurrently with the EAI courses. A maximum of three EAI courses may be repeated one time each for a grade. Grades of “F” earned in an EAI or ECON course may only be retaken at Purdue University. Previous enrollments in MA 16100/16500 do not count in the EAI GPA if replaced with MA 16010. Notes
- A minor in the College of Liberal Arts is required with this major.
- Students cannot receive both the Economics, BS in the School of Management and the Economics, BA in the College of Liberal Arts.
- A minimum 2.0 GPA is required in all ECON courses taken for the major.
Critical Course
The ♦ course is considered critical. A Critical Course is one that a student must be able to pass to persist and succeed in a particular major.
