ANTH 51900 - Introduction To Semiotics

Credit Hours: 3.00. (AUSL 58900, COM 50700, ENGL 57000, LC 57000) The study of languages, literatures, and other systems of human communication. Includes a wide range of phenomena which can be brought together by means of a general theory of signs. The course deals with three fundamental areas: 1) verbal communication, 2) nonverbal communication (iconic systems, gestures, body language, etc.), and 3) communication through art forms.
