Credit Hours: 3.00. Survey of ideas, programs, strategies of nineteenth and twentieth century black leaders and activists. Course concentrates on Pan-Africanism, as-similationism, black nationalism (territorial and cultural), racial awareness as developed against background of slavery, urban migration, economic oppression, and black political powerlessness.
