Credit Hours: 3.00. An intensive individual computer lab supplements lectures examining the role of computerized information and control systems in manufacturing. An elaborate series of case studies, enlivened by advanced computer simulations, bring together production planning, master scheduling, materials planning, short-range capacity planning, production floor execution, and quality control. Students plan and execute the production and purchasing of all parts, aided by an integrated MRP/capacity planning/shop-floor control system built into the computer simulation.
