Academic Programs:

Master’s and Ph.D. Programs

Research-based graduate programs lead to a master of science or doctor of philosophy degrees.

Professional Master’s and Doctoral Programs

There are both a Non-Thesis option, which meets the needs of those wishing to earn a Master’s Degree and return to industry with no intent of pursuing a Ph.D. program, and Thesis option for those wishing to pursue a Ph.D. in their future. Ph.D. applicants must already hold a master’s degree, HTM does not offer a program where a master’s is earned on the way towards a doctorate.

Concentrations (Areas of Study):

The school’s three research centers in foodservice, lodging, and tourism. As part of a major research university, we are able to offer qualified students access to courses in individual areas of interest including food science, foods and nutrition, consumer affairs, engineering, education, industrial management, community planning, and others.

Online/Distance Programs:

No online programs. HTM normally does not approve part-time study or research done away from the campus. It does offer a Masters of Science Online program. This program is a business-focused hospitality degree designed to help managers with HTM industry experience rise to new levels. It is open to domestic students and tailored specifically to HTM managers with five years of professional experience and a minimum of three years of management experience.
