About the Program
Designed for civil engineering professionals seeking to advance their technical expertise and leadership skills, Purdue’s #2 ranked online Master of Science in Civil Engineering (MSCE) equips engineers to tackle complex infrastructure challenges. Through in-depth coursework and applied learning in a flexible online format, students gain expertise in structural design, transportation systems, construction management, and emerging trends in civil engineering. Students will develop the analytical and problem-solving skills needed to assess, design, and manage large-scale engineering projects while integrating sustainability and innovation. Students should take at least five 500/600-level CE courses. This requirement can be fulfilled by of the optional interdisciplinary concentrations, which are linked below and include: Infrastructure, Resiliency, and Sustainability; Smart Mobility; and Sustainable Water. Technical Electives (9 credits)
Students should take at least three 500/600-level courses, ether in CE or outside of CE, such as in ME, ECE, etc., as approved by the student’s advisor. Interdisciplinary concentrations: GPA Requirements
Students must complete all courses on their Plan of Study with a grade of no less than a C−. No grades of D or F are allowed on the POS. Any course with a grade of D or F must be repeated. Students cannot drop them from the POS. Students must have a POS GPA of 3.0 to successfully complete the MSCE. Graduate Programs Disclaimer
