Before completion of this minor, the student MUST establish advanced oral and written proficiency in Spanish or Portuguese. Proficiency may be established by receiving credit from the School of Languages and Cultures for Spanish or Portuguese through the 20200 -level, either through actual course work or through the Foreign Language Placement Exam.

Latin American & Latino Studies minors must earn an overall GPA of 2.67 or better in courses on the minor. Credits for a student’s major cannot be double-counted towards this minor.
