PHYS 21700 - Introduction To Current Physics And Forefront Research Honors

Credit Hours: 1.00.  This course introduces new physics majors to current physics and the research areas of the department.  There are multiple sections with each section having eight or less students meeting with a Professor.  The course is part seminar, part interactive discussion and questions and answers and part laboratory visits to research areas.  Topics cover a wide range including the evolution of the Universe, astrophysics, elementary particle physics, nuclear physics, geophysical dating, nanoscience and imaging.  Topics evolve to match current physics and the interests of the students. Typically offered Fall.Credits: 1.00
