Similar to a minor, the program is open to all undergraduates enrolled at Purdue’s West Lafayette campus who have at least four semesters remaining in their academic program. To begin the program, students simply enroll in the first introductory core course, ENTR 20000, and connect with their academic advisor.
Upon completion, students receive an official certificate, which is noted on their academic transcript. Other benefits include:
A unique and multidisciplinary experience
- Professional skills for work and life
Enhanced job prospects and choices
Connections to successful entrepreneurs and innovators
Workshops, speakers, and experiential opportunities
Leadership and communication skills
Approved option and capstone courses from all colleges are utilized to determine each student’s optimal path for certificate completion. Selections can be based upon disciplines, desired experiences, specific entrepreneurship disciplines or even career goals. Many courses fulfill both certificate and major plan of study requirements.
Purdue’s Certificate in Entrepreneurship and Innovation is one of the largest, multidisciplinary entrepreneurship programs in the country, serving nearly 2,500 students from across campus each year. Annually, hundreds of Purdue graduates receive their certificates in addition to their diplomas. The program is administered through Purdue’s Office of the Provost and is governed by a Faculty Advisory Committee consisting of highly respected faculty and administrators from every college on campus.
